School is Out!

Today is my last day of the 2006-2007 school year. I said goodbye and happy summer to all of my students on Friday, and today I officially sent them all to 4th grade by signing their permanent records. I also readied my room for summer by putting everything away in the closets. The room looks a little different now than it did just a week ago. I am looking forward to leaving for New York City on Wednesday, and then Shanghai, China next Thursday, June 21st.

have a good summer!

I'm glad to hear King's Island was fun. I haven't been there in several years, but I will always remember the first drop on The Beast. That is quite a thrill!

Mr. Heiden,
I'm sure it did look a lot different. I know you are going to miss all of your own students, but you'll see them next year and have even more students to get attached to. Trust me, I know how it feels.
Have fun in China. And, be careful!

The school classroom looks like a tornado went through it!

HaleeRae,

I know you are changing schools again, so you will get to know a whole new bunch of teachers...they'll be great though.

Hi Josh,

The room does look different with everything ready for summer cleaning. As for a tornado.....not sure about that!

this year has gone by quickly. You should see Mrs. larsons classroom at SCE, it is the LGI room so it is huge and the cabnits/closets/lockers are outside so it looks really empty!

Anonymous said...

...at least it was the LGI room until they ran out of classrooms(i think thats why but i'm not sure)

I know that this is off the subject, but what was your favorite subject in school?

Mark Heiden said...

Lexi,

I did see Mrs. Larson's room once this past year--it was nice! It's funny that she had the LGI room because Miss Young has the LGI room at Brooks School Elem. now.

Josh,

I am not sure, but probably reading. As I moved into junior high I began to like social studies and science more I think. I also really liked a Visual Basic computer programming class I took in high school.

Mr. Heiden,
As Josh said this is off subject but... You didn't answer my question about coming back to class for the lesson!!!

from, Alexandra
P.S. Answer me this time, PLEASE!!?? I only used my first name this time, are you happy?

Mark Heiden said...

Alexandra,

I didn't realize that I didn't answer your earlier question....and thank you for using your first name only.

I don't know for sure about my lessons on China during the next school year. I don't know what they will be like, when they will be, or anything specific. I do know that I want to do some work on China though next school year. Miss Young and I have worked together on social studies and science in the past, and perhaps it will work out next school year for the lessons on China. If it doesn't, then you are more than welcome to come and see my pictures sometime and talk to me about China!

The classroom looks like my backyard. It's so empty

Sai, Yes it is shockingly empty. However, the closets are packed full of all my classroom library books!
